How can an event be 1st and annual. Seems as if the 1st annual would be the 2nd one! Considering how many of these events fail to make it to the second year maybe they should call them the 1st “hopefully†annual beerfest or what ever. We have a perfectly good word for the very first of any type of festival, concert, ball etc. INAUGURAL.
King of the Road"
For as long as I can remember I have heard that Roger Miller wrote “King of the Road†In Garden City Motel. Anybody else heard of this? Alternatives rumors include, Hotel Boise, and the Idanha. Don’t think there was ever a time when Four bits would buy an eight by twelve four-bit room- Downtown.
Multnomah Falls
The daughter and I drove from nowhere through the middle of hell and gone. Then we crossed the “bridge of the Gods†and almost made sunrise at the falls.
Beautiful country and beautiful company.Busta Busted-Barwatch
Ted at China Blue, reportedly had Busta Rhymes and his crew up and drinking way after the 2:00am deadline this weekend and was cited by the liquor cops. It is also rumored that the Loft was hit for leaving Jager and Rumble etc. in the cooler, therefore not having it properly locked-up after hours.
Liquid Travel
The TSA has partially lifted the ban on liquids while traveling on airplanes. You may now purchase "approved" beverages in the secure part of the airport. This is a good thing, nothing is worse than a hung-over passenger with nothing to drink!!
If the "T" fits buy it!
Mat Thompson a freind of my son Don has fired up RhetoricStyle.com - The site has a collection of irreverent t-shirts, perfect for your night out in Boise.
Hanging around again
Would you like to see some of the images from this website “live?†Lorena at Cinnabar Caffe, 6932 W State has graciously let me to place a few of my best on the walls of her great restaurant and coffee shop. Stop by and check it out. Thanks!
An apple a day
Gotta' love the crispness of a fall morning or a classic apple.

Where the hell am I?
Turn left at the end of the world, Washington, go, oh about 35 miles or so.
It is beautiful in here no where.
To the dogs!
Wish I had taken this photo. This sign is priceless.

September
If April showers, bring May flowers. What do September showers bring?

Don't walk
So, what happened to “the pipeline broke†we are going to see gas prices over three dollars, maybe four! Even with the highest prices in the lower 48. I am paying $2.72. With prices dropping every day. Yes, there are folks out there that wish gas was so expensive that we would all have to walk and “starve in the dark.†Thankfully it ain’t going to happen soon.
Got Piratetude?
Didn't miss it this year1 September 19th is talk like a pirate day.
Studio 60
Don’t think I have ever reviewed or endorsed a TV show on Boisee. A bit off topic as my son would say. So? watch Studio 60 on NBC. The pilot is the best show I have seen on broadcast in a very long time. Since no one eats any bugs, it is likely to fail. Catch it before it is gone.
Why do you live Boise?
This e-mail was fowarded to me by Julie Numbers Smith. . .From: "madeline behrendt"
The 9/14 post on Richard Florida's creativity blog (www.creativeclass.org) is a call for stories - about why you live where you live.
Richard is the author of "The Rise of the Creative Class" and "Flight of the Creative Class." He is working on a new book, the premise of which is "about how people pick the places they live and why that's the single most important decision they'll ever make."
I want to help Boise (and Idaho) be properly represented so I'm spreading the word, plse pass along to everyone who might be interested.
Details about length, timing, etc. are located on his blog, link listed above.
Richard's closing request: "Make 'em zing!"
For those new to Richard Florida, his work on the economic impact of creative workers on Place has appeared in media sources around the world including Newsweek, the New York Times and Charlie Rose.
Can't wait to read your stories
The Downtowner Hotel
Downtowner Bridal Suite, Boise ID.
It has been a while since the Downtowner was about the classiest place in Boise to stay.
Maybe they should bring back the round bed!
Notice the fluffy high heals.
Hyde Park
The Hyde Park Street fair is one of my favorite events. Spent some time with Jo’s crew pouring a keg or two of beer. The North End Neighborhood Association and Jim Teeter have perfected this event and this year is no exception. Cool vendors, diverse and wonderful music, plus great food. Don’t pass up a chance to go this weekend. Where else can you get a whole BBQed turkey leg?

Photo Friday
Here is my entry for the Photo Friday Contest.
