In a peepatini!!!

Shot this yesterday morning.

The girl and I made it out of Nevada with a couple of Nickels left. Since I missed Photo Friday, how about a different take on one of my favorite subjects.

I’m back on my favorite walls at Dawson Taylor Downtown for First Thursday. This is a big & bold collection of canvas. It includes one of my largest ever. Can’t make 1st T-day? No problem, the work will be up all month.

Here are shots from a recent trip to Nampa.

The men of this picture are my Uncle Ernie Day(R) and E.L. Nif Sullivan(L). Along with my father Donald Day, they survived wars, wife's and the up and downs of daily life in Boise. Although you won’t find their names on any ski lodges the “boys†contributed fortunes and more importantly hours to making Boise and Idaho the fantastic place it is today.
To me, they were my mentors, in later years friends. These men gave freely of their time and expertise. I am the photographer I am today, because of Ern’s encouragement and valued critique. Nif taught me how the stand proud at a craps table, and that a martini needs vermouth. My dad?, well he taught me about the value of “cheap†scotch and just about everything else. We lost dad years ago, Nif a couple of months ago. Now, with Ern’s internment today an era closes.
It wouldn’t surprise me if these two and dad are right now in heaven looking for a “forth†for a round of golf or bridge.
I hope so.

It was a vista of big blue sky, fluffy clouds, and the grand Snake River.
However the beauty was in a simple feather above the river. Took this Thursday just outside Celebration park on the northern edge of the Snake. Hope you enjoy it.
Golfers call it a “come backer†that one drive, or putt that makes a whole day on the coarse worth it. As a skier it is often the last run, the sun setting, headed to the lodge. After a month of not taking particularly good, much less great photos it all came together. Perfect light, snow, fog, the river, a goose or two and a good friend to wander with. Guess I’ll keep at this whole thing for a while.

Nice to have some time off from the market and the shows. I have been working on some more universal images. What do you all think of this one?
Sorry this is late. Took Ms. Santa, this morning.
