Coordinated by the Eagle Arts Commission Are you interested in being part of this great artist opportunity? Please contact our volunteer art curator Ruth Romero at 938-4220. St. Luke's Eagle Gallery Artists of the Month for May 2009 David Day, Photographer David Day is the Artist to be featured at St. Luke's Medical Center in Eagle for the month of May. He is an amazingly creative photographer who prints his pictures on sheets of metal. During this exhibit, he will be presenting his provocative "Metal Series".Photography is a quest and an adventure for David. His "Metal Series" uses an advanced and painstaking process to place his photography directly onto metal sheets. A variety of sheet steel, aluminum or copper is used. The metal is often taken from the recycle bins or scrap heaps. Each piece offers a unique patina and dramatic pattern allowing every image to look mysteriously and distinctly different. He searches diligently to bring you the images the world wants you to see. Be it an aging black staircase slashing down the back of a red urban landscape, the wide vista of a frigid morning, red rust against the chrome of an old gas pump or maybe just a simple single flower glowing in a desert sunset. He never knows what his eye will capture. With a talent for finding new ways of looking at landmarks and cityscapes, David's work has been published in various magazines, books and selected websites. Whatever the sights, he hopes to show you the world in a way that will make you feel elated and spiritually connected. He has a lyrical style that evokes emotion. "Powerful images can be found everywhere, I love traveling many a journey to find them." He enjoys sharing his unique discoveries with all who can appreciate the unusual.

Eagle in Flight
This magnificent animal and a couple of his friends were nice enough to soar at the end of my lens above highway 55 near Ferncroft Friday afternoon. The combination of grace and power is inspiring.
Wonder what this image would look like on copper?
Photo Friday-Drink up.
Found the geometry of this one fascinating. Found it sitting on a bar stool.

This is a shot from a recent commercial shoot for Ben Stuckey's Light Wave lights. The symmetry of his lights are beautiful as they shine on the rough brick wall.
