“How did you get that shot?”

2008 cal web-dec 07.jpgCalendar Photo Explanation:Over the next little while I am going to explain the circumstances and techniques it took to get the images for the 2008 calendar.Calendar logo.jpg I’ll start with December 2007 and work throughout the year.

Bogus Basin December 2007:
It was a prefect day, I was skiing with my daughter Elissa. Just enough cold and wind to keep the lightweights in the lodge. As we came up the ridge on chair one, Liss tapped my shoulder and said “Dad look.” I looked to the south as the wind was blowing snow up the ridgeline. The sun was behind it lit it up like a rainbow. I fumbled for the “action” cam-a smaller digicam I bring along for just this reason. Lissa leaned back I fired off one shot on the automatic setting and was amazed that we got it.

Technically this is a mostly unaltered photo. I little dodging(taking away light) and burning(adding light) in the tree and an increase in the intensity of the snow mist to bring out the colors.

Tech Stuff: 1/1000 sec @ f5 Panasonic DCM TZ1 AKA-the "wiskey cam"

Lesions learned: Always have a camera. Listen to your daughter.

Something Fishy at Koi?-update

The Mai Thai spin off may be doing some spinning of it's own. Rumors of a name change, menu, and style update are bouncing down the alley off of 8th street. IMG_0521 web1.jpg

UPDATE Here is the new sign- Notice the old Koi sign in the background. Not sure of the ownership/staffing details. Anybody?Anybody?

For you Apple Geeks

For weeks I have been debating on buying an Apple Iphone. . . Now this info comes from MS. VP, Thanks Viv.

Subject: New Apple Product For you Apple Geeks!

Apple Computers announced today that it has developed a computer chip that can store and play music in women's breast implants.

The iBoob will cost between $499 and $599.

This is considered to be a major breakthrough because women are always complaining about men staring at their breasts and not listening to them.

Thanks to Apple, everyone is now happy.

Since I don't qualify and there is no phone or camera, I think I still want the Iphone!

DaveSure could use a small note on your blog about the weekly BLUES jam at the Ha'Penny every Tuesday at 7:30. Great host band ...(okay host singer) Great guest players.....Super location...well, you know the drill. Looking forward to playing some blues again in Downtown on a weekly basis. Wish us luck.

Know why I front a blues band in Boise Idaho? 'Cuz football, soccer and golf only require one ball.
