Bouquet to become Bucket?

Once know as the “Rose of the West” and later the famous Blues Bouquet. The bar at 1010 Main may be changing it’s name to the Bucket. Sad if true.

Does this also confrim the rumors here and there of an onwership change?

Shhh

Man is it quiet out here. After weeks of weirdness, the sun seems to have mellowed everyone and everything out. Anybody got any news?

Cat Diary Entry:

Day 983 of my captivity.

My captors continue to taunt me with bizarre little dangling objects.

They dine lavishly on fresh meat, while the other inmates and I are fed hash or some sort of dry nuggets. Although I make my contempt for the rations perfectly clear, I nevertheless must eat something in order to keep up my strength. The only thing that keeps me going is my dream of escape.

In an attempt to disgust them, I once again vomit on the carpet.

Today I decapitated a mouse and dropped its headless body at their feet. I had hoped this would strike fear into their hearts, since it clearly demonstrates what I am capable of. However, they merely made condescending comments about what a "good little hunter" I am. Bastards!

There was some sort of assembly of their accomplices tonight. I was placed in solitary confinement for the duration of the event. However, I could hear the noises and smell the food. I overheard that my confinement was due to the power of "allergies." I must learn what this means, and how to use it to my advantage.

Today I was almost successful in an attempt to assassinate one of my tormentors by weaving around his feet as he was walking. I must try this again tomorrow --but at the top of the stairs.

I am convinced that the other prisoners here are flunkies and snitches.

The dog receives special privileges. He is regularly released - and seems to be more than willing to return. He is obviously stupid.

The bird has got to be an informant. I observe him communicate with the guards regularly. I am certain that he reports my every move. My captors have arranged protective custody for him in an elevated cell, so he is safe. For now . . .

Photo Friday-Tribute

The men of this picture are my Uncle Ernie Day(R) and E.L. Nif Sullivan(L). Along with my father Donald Day, they survived wars, wife's and the up and downs of daily life in Boise. Although you won’t find their names on any ski lodges the “boys” contributed fortunes and more importantly hours to making Boise and Idaho the fantastic place it is today.

To me, they were my mentors, in later years friends. These men gave freely of their time and expertise. I am the photographer I am today, because of Ern’s encouragement and valued critique. Nif taught me how the stand proud at a craps table, and that a martini needs vermouth. My dad?, well he taught me about the value of “cheap” scotch and just about everything else. We lost dad years ago, Nif a couple of months ago. Now, with Ern’s internment today an era closes.

It wouldn’t surprise me if these two and dad are right now in heaven looking for a “forth” for a round of golf or bridge.

I hope so.

What is up with car dealers?

Since I am in need of a new car. I have been on most of the auto dealers lots. Wow, talk about aggressive. At Nampa Kia, a salesperson literally jumped out of a bush and hugged my fender. At least that seem like the case. He appeared from nowhere. At West Coast I had to flash my lights and rev the engine to get a guy to move so I could turn onto Franklin. He kept trying to get me to roll down my window. All I want is a car. Even after a week of dodging sales people and trolling lots after dark, I still can’t decide. Anyone out in internet land have a small older 4 wheel drive truck(bronco, blazer, ram) they want to sell? Don’t care if its old, just want something well cared for and in good shape. Or a fancy sports car!!!!!

Maybe I need two cars.

Can She Do It?

The co-owner of Cafe Veritas is on a mission. She is going to read 200 books in a year. Not so hard you think? Well, Amanda also has a toddler, a newborn and oh course the business to run. She is on day 47 and is reading one on and is reading one of my favorite authors Raymond Chandler. Check out her progress-www.200books.com
