Boisee.com thinks the part about flexible and willing is a good thing.

Good News-Sunshine to remodel

Can't remember what they called it before it was the Purple Jester, but the Sunshine bar just over the Curtis/connector overpass will soon be renovated. The old Saturday night dance floor is long gone, but sources close to the bar tell Boisee.com that the bar will get an update, and may have live music to replace the Karaoke. We hope that rumors of the bar being named The Connector are wrong. Didn't Arnel Jones ruin that one forever?

With Liquid a success, Grainey's on the mend, The Bouquet remodeled and open we may be seeing a much deserved renaissance in the bar biz. Recession be damn- even greedy stock market and real estate fat cats have to drink someplace.

Foresters to reopen!

This weekend McCall's most notorious bar will comes back alive. Have seen some amazing things in this joint. With Wiskey's in Sun Valley gone, maybe Foresters can book some locals and Boisee.com readers can make it a road trip.

Is Lush to be flushed

As prices increase and free drinks disappear, is there a chance of new ownership around the corner for the Main street watering hole. That’s what we hear.

Zima-Say it ain't so!

MILWAUKEE - MillerCoors LLC says goodbye to Zima.  The joint venture between SABMiller's U.S. unit and Molson Coors Brewing Co. told distributors in a letter Monday that production of the malt liquor beverage was discontinued as of Oct. 10.

Guess they should have called it Zimatini. What will teenage boys do?

More bad news!

Remember when Boisee.com was about an occasional complaint, or some bar owner getting arrested. It is not to much fun to only post about the negative. This sad info comes by way of Dr Dave. . . Zutto Japanese Restaurant closed Tuesday after 11 years in Boise, citing the economy as a chief cause.

It opened in 1997 in the basement of the Carroll Building on Bannock Street then moved to its larger location at 615 W. Main St. in 2000. The phone message said the "economic downfall prompted our closure" and thanked patrons. If you have a gift certificate, call 850-8208.

Le Poulet Rouge, 106 N. 6th St., closed Thursday, Oct. 9, "until further notice" after the sudden death of owner Frank Plummer. The family has no current plans regarding the restaurant, said Kirk Prall, a family friend. Plans for memorial services are pending.
