Oh Those Summer Nights

Was headed home last night, when I heard a familiar sound. No, familiar isn’t quite right, more like aural deja vu. Almost hauntng, that feeling you get when you catch the voice of an old friend on the phone. A guitar was playing somewhere, the sound pinging and ponging off of the buildings down town. Rolling up 10th, I turned "up river" on Main and the 1st guitar was joined by a second. Acoustic, mellow and rich. The strings blending in a summer sweet sound. Was that Jon, and Jeff. Must be Angels. The years faded away, Tauge and Faulkner were on the patio again.

With memories of War Eagle and Dynasty as fresh as yesterday, I settled in for a set. Only a Beetles tune kept the boys from prefection. With an easy camaraderie and friendship Jeff and Jon pleased the mostly 40ish crowd. Many a familiar face smiled, no doubt remembering nights at “the Lock.” It was a wonderful way to spend some time on a warm Idaho evening. Thanks gentlemen.
